Sleep in hair rollers review

I was looking for some rollers awhile ago when I came across these. They have very good reviews and many celebrities have been spotted with them in their hair, after reading a few reviews and watching a few YouTube tutorials I decided to get them for myself. I have waist length hair that is poker straight, the only time I have volume in my hair is after a pricey visit to my wonderful hairdresser, my hair is very flat and every now and again I'd like it to be fuller and bouncier rather than lifeless.

So I decided to test them out on my sister first, her hair is shoulder length and thinner than mine. After she washed it and dried it thoroughly I put them in, thankfully they didn't take very long to put in and seemed to stay put without the need to put bobby pins to secure the rollers to the hair. She didn't leave them in for long just a few hours, she said they were very uncomfortable. I expected to see a little more volume in her hair and a few waves at the ends but I was a little disappointed her hair was pretty much the same, I know that they are overnight rollers but I have cheap ones that work in under an hour!
I decided to try them on myself the next day and sleep with them in overnight, when it came to doing it on myself it wasn't that simple, it was actually very hard! I only shampooed my hair and used no conditioner but still my hair was too silky and they just slid down, after a few attempts I decided to use bobby pins to secure them. Unfortunately these to did not make a difference, I still left them in and tried to tie a headscarf to keep them secure whilst I slept.

After just five minutes of resting my head on the pillow I couldn't take it anymore and took them all out! It was uncomfortable and it just wasn't worth it, so I had to painstakingly take out each roller and bobby pin. Whilst doing this I noticed alot of hair being pulled out, when I put the rollers in I combed each section thoroughly to get rid of any tangles but when I took the rollers out it was a mess!

I really don't want to give up so soon so will try another attempt before I flog them off eBay but so far I am not impressed! I don't see how anyone, celebrities included, would put themselves through that for a night of itchy scalp and uncomfortable sleeping, rollers at night just don't seem to be for me. I am gutted as they were really expensive but before I slate them completely I will give it another go soon and hopefully I will not be so disappointed.
