White label and private label products

I had a very interesting conversation the other day regarding some cosmetic brands that I had never heard of before, the packaging was very simple and prices were competitive but I had no idea who they were. After a little research I found that it was a normal person who wanted to have their own line of cosmetics so they approached a white label company and ended up with their own range of make up.
What is a white label/private label product?
It is usually a product that has been produced by a company but then sold on and re-branded by other companies to make it seem as their own. Salons, spa's and hotels usually have white label products that they rebrand with their own company information and use and sell. A popular case of white label products at the moment has got to be mineral make up, it has been very popular in the last year and as a result many people have launched their own line of make up. Its actually very easy to do if you have the money to invest, you contact the company see what they have on offer, place an order and pay extra for them to have your brand name printed on it or you can do it yourself. I have seen many companies that offer a white label service and it is very interesting.

Now you know how spa's, salons and hotels have their own range of toiletries, cosmetics, etc its really quite easy to do. I have used to white label products, the first a mineral make up starter kit and the second an eye shadow make up palette. They were both good and it didn't put me off buying them, it just made me more aware of white label and private label products.

So if you have some money to invest then why not get your own range of make up products, many bloggers and make up artists are doing just that. If it has always been your dream then just go for it, there are many easy and cheap ways to sell the products.
