Hair thinning comb/scissors review

As you may have noticed cutting your own hair seems to be very popular at the moment, a combination of money savers and new trendy layers are what seemed to have prompted people to cut their own hair. I started cutting my own hair at home a few months ago and feel so confident that I doubt I'll ever trust someone to cut my hair again, unless I wanted a completely new look! Well like I said layers are really in at the moment and with many hair dressing scissors and accessories readily available everyone wants in on the action too.


When I decided to cut my own hair it was advised to use hair thinning scissors to, this would take off some of the weight of the hair and make the hair fall nicely. I was going to buy a pair until I did some research.

What are hair thinning scissors or comb?
They are scissors that have a segregated edge, so when you cut not all the hair gets cut just small chunks of it, they are actually very damaging to hair. These scissors cause split ends because they are so harsh to the hair when cutting, its more like shaving your hair off.

In my opinion when I have had haircuts and thinning shears have been used, I did suffer from really bad split ends. Also its very easy to get carried away when using them so hair is over thinned, if used to much your hair will also not have time to grow back.

Some people advise that thinning scissors are only used on your fringe or the ends of the hair because most people have their hair trimmed every 8 weeks or so. I personally do not advise these scissors as they can be dangerous for a newbie, also I like having fuller hair, hair that is too straight can sometimes look lifeless and dull.

Find out what works for you but stay away from these scissors, split ends are a nightmare to fix, the only way to repair it is to cut it off.
