First of all too many colours can also be a downside so the 88 palette looks ideal for me, also you can mix colours together if there is a particular shade you need. These eye shadow palettes also come in different varieties such as, matte, warm, bright, shimmer, neutral etc different brands name them different things. First of all I will point out that the Mac 88 colour eye shadow that is circulating is indeed a fake! Mac have never brought out such a palette and its pretty obvious that its a fake once you receive it.

Next up is the 88 palette by Coastal Scents, they too have a variety from shimmer, neutral to warm, but the colours are same as above, the Mac palette.

Finally we have BH Cosmetics 88 palette, same as Coastal Scents they have a variety of palettes with different colours and level of shine etc.

As you can see they are all the same*, from what I gather they are a product of white label cosmetics/private label cosmetics, meaning that there are make up manufacturers that provide unbranded make up products and you then put your name on them. So basically all the palettes above have been most likely made by the same manufacturer who then sold them onto BH Cosmetics, Coastal Scents and whoever decided to make the MAC palette.
Now I have tried the colours and I have read many reviews on them too and to be honest I am very happy with mine, it cost around £12 and yes not all the colours are as pigmented but that works fine for me as this if I wanted to stand out I would've gone for the bold palette or shimmer palette. There are many others who are also very happy but some people feel ripped off that they purchased a fake MAC lol.
