How to bathe a toddler?

As your little one gets older you will find it challenging at bath time, I have always found it hard as I only had a shower cubicle at my house not a bath. Luckily I found ways to make life easier so I didn't need to rely on having a bathtub to bathe my little one. Here are my suggestions for you:

I started off with a all in one Cosatto changer, it had a changing mat on top but underneath was also a concealed bath with drainage. It made life so much easier because it saved time by combing the two and saved space too. As it was also on wheels I could wheel it from the nursery to the bathroom. The bath actually has a slightly raised mould so baby can lie back at an angle but I found that it was too slippery so... I put a towel down and my little one was able to have baths laying down from very early on.

Eventually at around 6 months my little one was making too much mess splashing around in the baby bath so I decided to buy her a baby bath chair. It was okay but I found it very difficult to wash the lower half of her body and stopping using it after a few weeks.

I then bought a cheap plastic chair for her to sit on when she could sit up unaided at around 6 1/2 months old, it worked fine for us. She sat there playing with her toys and I had no problems at all.

I also purchased a baby shower cap because once she could sit up the water was going into her eyes and she would inhale it, a shower cap prevented this and cost me only £3! Read my review on that here, http://journeybyalioness.blogspot.com/2012/06/baby-shower-cap-review.html

Remember that I don't have a bath tub and the things I have mentioned above really helped me bathe a young child. My daughter is now 14 months old and she still sits on her little chair whilst I bathe her but not every child is the same.
